This is a circuitous way of saying. Occasionally, I see someone saying "I think it's great the government is allowing AI training/regurgitation because that weakens copyright, and I don't like copyright" and you fool. You stooge. You instrumentalized doe-eyed naif. AI training/regurgitation is copyright working normally. Corporate enclosure is what copyright is *for*. Upward transfer of wealth is what copyright is *for*.

Speaking as an author who has had his work illustrated: HUH? Artists illustrate our work. They own the copyright on their work. I own the copyright on my work. We're both happy.

    1. By your logic, every artist working in publishing is violating copyright with their portfolio (they're not). 3. You can strip moral rights w/o using those words. 4. This is, to put it kindly, a snow job. There exists a protection of authors' and illustrators' rights; it's called copyright and if you're a publisher you ought to know as much. Not only is this an attempt to paper over a greedy rights grab, it's also insulting to anyone's intelligence.

Good thing that AI companies have already shown that intellectual property and copyright don’t matter. Otherwise this is some good evidence.

I own copyright on the vast majority of cover art I’ve created. And yes, I own the right to make prints of that art. But even when fans demand I make prints upon book release, I don’t do it @ that time. Why? Because I want the author and publisher to make $$$$$. But those art rights remain mine.

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
