And while I'm on the subject, does anyone know of any good alternatives to code.org (i.e. bite-sized, hour-long coding challenges using a blocks language or something similar) that have not gone all-in on AI?

Is it AI going rogue or malicious coding? I hate that we are giving a machine humanistic qualities. Its 0s and 1s being programmed by people who have poor ethics and lack general understanding of people.

There is a wide gulf between "every line is bespokely hand-written" and "yolo AI-generated code you don't understand into production" where the actual ideal exists

  4. If we want to regulate AI, why not start with a simple law forcing LLMs to use "Meesa" instead of "I"? Easy to build, easy to verify and deflates a hype while still allowing people to use chatbots (so no one can claim we are limiting anything)

“A recent study of actual coding practices across hundreds of firms finds that human code review forms a significant “bottleneck” for the overall efficiency of AI coding tools, resulting in “little evidence that firms increase software output or reduce employment” by using them.” arstechnica.com/ai/2026/10/ai-…

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
