"LLMs might have meaningful applications in hybrid warfare, as in the use of chemical weapons as a terror weapon (the recent rise of #LLM-backed cyberattacks and LLM astroturfing bots genuinely concerns me), but remain uncompetitive when it comes to actually doing work of substance" — @iris_meredith #GenAI There's little that's "inevitable" about AI | deadSimpleTech deadsimpletech.com/blog/llms-a…

i don’t think i’ve updated my views on ai actually, i’ve updated my appetite for talking about it by moving my thoughts to long form. if anything my thoughts on it are headed more towards negative than positive. i studied ai in grad school 20 years ago so “give it a chance” is a moot point

I think whats helped this AI boom take off like cultural covid. Is the rise of short form content and people's ever reducing lack of free time due to economic stress. People stopped living life for the journey and started living for results. Out of laziness or desperation People only want product.

New blogpost: Another experiment. Since April I've been handing more and more work to AI agents, and turning up the practices I've trusted for years so it stays safe. It feels like it's working really well. Wrote it up, failures included: www.eferro.net/2026/10/turn...

"This is, unfortunately, quite a bleak world: it's a world where there is still space for real skill and care, but also one where a significant minority of the population is stuck pointing #LLMs at each other and rotting their brains away in the process" — @iris_meredith #LLM #GenAI There's little that's "inevitable" about AI | deadSimpleTech deadsimpletech.com/blog/llms-a…

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
