Remember when the early web was totally visible to everyone and you could just copy what you liked about someone else’s site and put it in your own? That’s all software everywhere now. rea.tools

  3. For a long time I've been very selective about what tech I use, based on strict ethical principles (scroll down here); disintermedia.net.nz/about/ I want to use, promote, and support the development of tech that meets as many of these principles as possible. A few years ago I came across a blog piece using the tongue-in-cheek term 'tech vegan' to describe this; nolanlawson.com/2019/05/31/tec… But a better term might be 'tech Amish', or even 'neo-luddite'. #Scraping websites and #bot-protection While searching for my ancestors, I had to access data from many different websites. I noticed there were different levels of protection against automated access depending on the site. In this post, I’ll list them and mention countermeasures you can take to bypass them anyway. blog.frankel.ch/bypass-bot-pro…

So, if you're not following, a lot of people in the ATmosphere are attacking #WSocial because, well, they've been quite dishonest about a certain number of things (that they're a fork of Bluesky, for starters). A couple of house ago, one of the boss has gone full tinfoil hat, accusing us to be […]

Well well well, it seems like my distaste for auto updaters & lack of internet access for 6 years is paying off in this "I asked a chat bot to code for me" era hmm?

The WCAG 2.2 AA engine behind A11yScope now runs as an MCP server, so the agent that wrote the HTML can audit and fix it in the same loop. claude mcp add a11yscope -- npx -y a11yscope-mcp Local headless Chrome, nothing uploaded, and every result says what automated checks can't see.

dev.to I turned my accessibility checker into an MCP server, so the agent that writes the HTML can also fix it

  9. been thinking about an idea for about six months now (as most of my ideas go) about making an extension or app that either neutralizes or allows you to customized the algorithm of the internet in general. Like no matter the site it will keep your preferences for what you see the same

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
