DOS Friends! A new mTCP is available! This version is mostly a maintenance release, except for NetDrive which has some major improvements. (It is faster, especially on remote links.) Downloads and release notes are at www.brutman.com/mTCP/mTCP.html. #retrocomputing

v86: x86 emulator in the browser with AROS presets The open-source v86 emulator emulates a complete x86 PC within a browser and compiles code using WebAssembly JIT. Interestingly, three AROS distributions can also be tried out and launched directly in this way: amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2026-… #AROS #retrocomputing #Webassembly

Just had a look for a USB to SCSI interface (I have quite a few SCSI drives around). Thought that like most converters these days there would be loads of cheap ones around on the market ... Nope - not found anything the sensible side of £100 which is crazy. #retroComputing #SCSI

  10. In my middle school's computer lap a computer was using Ubuntu 8.04 and I always liked using it because it was different. A little later I got the 10.4 dvd through ship it to use on a old laptop which I used that. When I fully abandoned Windows in 2020 I used Fedora and later CachyOS to this day

There’s no substitute for probing the real actual hardware registers! Had an issue with the boot splash being garbled (consistent with the latter part of this videos) and ended up discovering the screen was inverted 😵‍💫

Did a bit more typing on Retrospecs today. Whilst it still needs another pass to tidy things up, it’s actually starting to feel quite nice. So… that’s only taken twelve years 🤔 Anyhow, here’s a quick preview of the Converter as it currently stands… youtube.com/shorts/OsH0p...

As an ex-film/TV assistant editor, a decade old cracked version of quicktime was often the secret Swiss Army knife used to fix/convert any number of problems with high profile projects due to field people getting progressively lazier and lazier about format settings.

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
