thinking about how all the cenotes in Yak T'el imply that there was a Chicxulub-level asteroid impact on Etheryis And they even go a step further with the fact that the area is covered in meteorites

“This is what happens when a star like ours reaches the end of its lifecycle, sheds its outer layers, and collapses into a white dwarf, spending the next many trillions of years cooling into a black dwarf while its stellar mass reaches into interstellar space, eventually contributing their elements to forming planets.” petapixel.com/2026/10/05/eerie… #space #WorldSpaceWeek #science

I recreated the two possible planets orbiting TIC 4206066, using the predicted November 2026 transit times published by Pavel Rabtsevich zenodo.org/records/2317... Neither planet is confirmed yet. NASA's TESS will put the predictions to the test in November. #astro 🔭🔭

Ever wonder where the neutrinos seen by the IceCube telescope come from? We investigate that in our latest paper, where we show evidence of a correlation between radio flares seen by the VLA Sky Survey and astrophysical neutrinos. Astronomers have observed a “vampire star” slowly consuming a brown dwarf companion for the first time. It’s stripping away material and feeding at a rate equivalent to about 5.2 trillion Quarter Pounder burgers every second. That’s my kinda cosmic meal. 🍔😋

  8. A rare cosmic tipple! 🥂😉For the first time ever, astronomers have detected a rare form of the organic alcohol #methanol in space. Intriguingly, the molecule is about 100x more abundant than current models predict - a sign there’s still a secret ingredient in cosmic chemistry we’ve yet to uncover!🔭🌟The study, led by Arnaud Belloche of the Max Planck Institute for Radio #Astronomy, is part of the ALMA COMPASS programm. mpg.de/26834976/first-detectio…?

I went on the Stereo Chemistry pod to talk about--what else--stereochemistry! That being the topic of this year's #ChemNobel. (Cut for time: me yapping about linocut, neutrinos, and a running joke among the science team concerning the chirality of cows.)

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
