"1,000-mile-long cloud that forms and vanishes on Mars every day obeys 'exotic physics' never seen on Earth" by @LiveScience - Mysterious 1000mi/1600km+ long cloud that forms daily in #Mars spring & summer now has a theory how it forms. It's from orographic lift over the ancient dead volcano Arsia Mons. But it isn't quite that simple - it should be impossible in the thin atmosphere almost devoid of water vapor. livescience.com/space/mars/1-0… #space #weather #planetary #science #spacegeek #astronomy

  6. Sham scientific societies are misleading star #researchers These belong to a sprawling international constellation of suspicious academies and societies that have successfully misled some of the world’s leading #scientists and #universities, including Stanford and US National Academies of Sciences. Organizations’ websites contain content that has been plagiarized or manipulated, falsehoods about institutional histories and locations and honorifics available for purchase. nature.com/articles/d41586-026…

  10. My hot take is: if you want to promote Chemistry as "The Central Science", don’t complain when someone who is "not a real chemist/not doing real chemistry" wins the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for work in a field that draws upon chemistry principles. I suspect I’ll be tapping this sign in a year’s time

Search looks through the last 36 hours of public posts for your words, "exact phrases", #hashtags, @handles and websites, and also finds posts about the same thing by meaning. New posts join about every 10 minutes. We only include posts whose authors allow logged-out viewing (Bluesky) or search (Mastodon, indexable accounts), and we re-check Bluesky authors each time we show a page. Likes and follower counts never decide the order. For meaning matches, query text is turned into a fingerprint on Wildroot’s own server (EmbeddingGemma-300M); it is never sent to another service. Wildroot does not save query text to disk. Looking for posts like one you have? Similar posts. How to opt out.
