This sensitivity is associated with impulsive behavior. When an individual with ADHD receives a reward, their brain may over-register the immediate gratification, making it difficult to wait for delayed outcomes."

The nexus with the old Stanford Marshmallow study, amirite?

The report doesn't exactly say anything ground-breaking. We know both ASD and ADHD are related to serotonin and dopamine and in slightly different regions in/around the frontal cortex, and the regions are aligned with the expressed conditions associated with ADHD and ASD.

What it basically means, is that it's difficult to treat someone with AuDHD b/c you have to target dopamine and serotonin at different regions for ADHD and ASD.

Now gimme my marshmallow.

The longer people had spent under rationing, the lower their risk of developing type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure in mid- to later life, with consistent associations with cardiovascular disease, liver disease, respiratory health, dementia and, more recently, broader measures of ageing.

Oddly, this report uses the phrase 'exposed to low-sugar environment' -- very healthful in the first 1000 days. That's upside down when it should be 'exposure to added sugar' (bad!)

The proportion of older people donating has increased as numbers of younger people (aged 17-24) has fallen. Young people made up 7.2% of donors in 2022/23 compared to 13.1% in 2017/2018.

This might lead to a bigger problem in future if fewer younger people are coming through the system.

Giving blood is maybe the only thing you can do in life where you get to lie down for 20 minutes, then eat some chocolate and crisps for free…and SAVE LIVES as a result.

#GiveBlood. Save lives.

It's an antioxidant, combats infections, stimulates skin cells for faster repair and closure. Its aldehyde structure forms self-healing hydrogels with chitosan, boosting drug delivery and skin strength. Rodent studies showed vanillin dressings achieved 94-96% wound closure in 2-3 weeks, outpacing conventional care.

Good news: no, she hasn't had a(nother) heart attack! But she admitted that she's awakened similarly with chest pain the last several mornings without telling me, and that nitroglycerin has alleviated it (indicating that, yeah, it's probably something cardiac), and since her cardiologist retired and she can't get an appointment for months, they admitted her overnight so the hospital cardiologist can give her a stress test, angiogram, echocardiogram, etc. to see if something's wonky that needs to be addressed.

So: tired and bored but nothing's really wrong and she's getting excellent care.

Here it would be about $8,500 and in Mexico it’ll be about $1,700 so I’m planning on June and scouring for he internet for reviews of periodontists in Tecate (I’ve been there once before for this) and Tijuana.

My sister said, “all the places you love in Mexico and you’d pick Tijuana?”

I said “this is not a vacation, this is a gum graft.”

Fly to San Diego, cross border, get gum graft, fly back as soon as they say I can, be miserable.
